The Davis Auto Group has an exciting opportunity as we are hiring a General Sales Manager for Kicking Horse Ford in beautiful Golden, BC. The General Sales Manager will oversee all aspects of the variable department to drive business results and profitability while providing an exceptional customer experience and seizing the opportunities available for our dealership.

Our ideal candidate has a strong sense of personal achievement and prefers hands-on involvement in the business rather than remaining in an office. They will have 3-4 years of leadership experience in the automotive industry, including experience with both new and used inventory management and business office operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the variable department and train, support, and coach the sales and finance team throughout the sales process.
- Manage new and used inventory levels to ensure stock is balanced, appropriate for the market, and optimized for rotation.
- Analyze client and market trends to determine and order the right stock of new vehicles (color, model, equipment).
- Appraise, purchase, recondition, and market used vehicles to generate dealership profit.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of employees, while fostering future talent development.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, ensuring a priority on customer satisfaction to create loyalty and generate referrals.
- Stay updated on manufacturer products and promotions and communicate any changes to the variable team.
- Maintain effective communication within the variable department and with other dealership leaders, collaborating to identify opportunities and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in automotive sales and finance; including leadership experience.
- Ford experience is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to lead and build a cohesive team by motivating, inspiring, and engaging employees.
- A team player dedicated to working with leadership and employees to achieve alignment and meet goals.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Results-driven with excellent planning, organization, and execution skills and a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, including tact, sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees.
