Automotive Shop Foreman

If you answered “yes” to these questions, then we have an opportunity for you! Davis GMC Buick has a new opportunity for a current team member as a Shop Foreman.

Reporting to the Service Manager, this position will provide support, training and guidance to Technicians and Apprentice Techs. Our ideal candidate is a strong team player who demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to help others, in addition to being a highly productive Technician.

In addition to performing regular automotive repair duties, successful candidates will be expected to perform the following duties.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of the service shop, including monitoring the completion and quality of work
  • Provide support to Technicians and Apprentices to hold them accountable to achieving productivity goals
  • Providing guidance and advice on best practices including quoting, diagnostics and repairs
  • Training and onboard of new hires to the team
  • Ensure safety protocols in the shop are met, including the appropriate use of PPE, tools and equipment
  • Communicate with customers when necessary regarding repairs or other issues
  • Communicate and work closely with the Service Manager as well as other Department Managers, working effectively to identify opportunities and resolve issues
  • Continue to perform duties of and consistently meet individual productivity expectations as an Automotive Service Technician
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Experience with GM products is an asset
  • Good customer service and communication skills, including the ability to use tact, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers or employees
  • Committed to working with leadership to ensure goal alignment and achievement
  • Journeyman Technician License
  • Valid Driver’s License
